YSU starters: Doug Underwood, 6-3 sophomore guard (12.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds), Marlon Williamson, 5-11 senior guard (8.9, 2.4); Adam Baumann, 6-8 junior center (12.4, 7.6); Brian Radakovich, 6-7 sophomore forward (4.0, 3.0); Tejay Anderson, 6-6 junior forward (10.4, 4.3).
UMKC starters: Michael Watson, 6-1 junior guard (30.4, 4.1); Charlie McDonald, 6-0 freshman guard (0.7, 1.3); Carlton Aaron, 6-9 sophomore center (7.4, 9.6); James Williams, 6-8 junior forward (12.0, 5.9); Randall Atchison 6-5, senior forward (6.6, 4.1).
Game notes: The Penguins had a two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday at Duquesne 61-56. In that game the Penguins lost starting forward Jamel Porter with a foot injury and he's doubtful for tonight's game. The Kangaroos are led by 6-1 junior Michael Watson, who comes into the contest leading the nation in individual scoring with a 30.4 point per game average, but the Kangaroos have lost seven straight including an 85-61 defeat at Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
Series: YSU leads the overall series with UMKC 12-6 and has won nine of the last 11 meetings. It was at UMKC in February of 2001 that the Penguins last won a road contest as they have lost 18 straight since then. That game the Penguins posted a 68-53 victory while still in the Mid-Continent Conference.
