MHL Seeing Stars: Dallas' Tippett sets one of league's top lines

Dallas Stars rookie coach Dave Tippett has created what might be the best line in the NHL.
Tippett matched Pierre Turgeon and Jason Arnott -- holdovers from the Stars' team that missed the playoffs last season for the first time in six years -- with newcomer Scott Young to form the potent trio on Nov. 12.
In the first 11 games, the line produced 20 goals and 24 assists -- led by Turgeon, who contributed two goals and 12 assists. The Stars now lead the Pacific Division.
Turgeon started off slowly with just two goals and three assists in his first 14 games. In the next 20, he had six goals and 17 assists.
Young, who spent the past four seasons with St. Louis, has seven goals and three assists in his last 17 games. He didn't have any goals and managed just five assists in his first 17 games with the Stars.
Arnott had five goals in seven games heading into the weekend, highlighted by a hat trick on Dec. 4 against Montreal. He had only two goals and two assists in his first nine games. He missed nine games after injuring his knee on opening night.
Pavel's pain
Pavel Bure is not predisposed to knee injuries, except by the way the "Russian Rocket" plays the game.
"He is just a hockey player that is twisting and turning," New York Rangers team doctor Andrew Feldman said.
Bure is no stranger to surgery on his knees. Since training camp started, Bure has had two performed on his twice-rebuilt right knee and one on his left.
But the Rangers' leading goal-scorer did receive some good news this week when operations on both knees revealed only minor damage. Instead of missing the rest of the season, Bure can be expected back in about a month.
"He's a good healer, I'll give him that much," said Feldman, who performed athroscopic surgery on Bure's knees on Monday.
There was concern that Bure tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee when he banged into Buffalo's Curtis Brown. Had that happened, Bure would've been lost for the season.
"When we did the arthroscopic test and pulled on the ACL, we realized that was not a problem," Feldman said.
All that was found was torn cartilage, Feldman said, and that was fixed.
Doctors also removed scar tissue from Bure's right knee. He had torn cartilage in the knee during a preseason game.
