BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Chris Gratton scored his first goal in nearly a month and added three assists for Buffalo. J.P. Dumont, Taylor Pyatt and Stu Barnes also scored for Buffalo, which got only its eighth victory of the season. Mike Knuble and Sergei Samsonov, back after missing four games with a wrist injury, scored for the Bruins, who lost their fourth straight game. Buffalo's Martin Biron had 27 saves. Steve Shields made 31 for the Bruins.
Flyers 3, Thrashers 1
ATLANTA -- Robert Esche stopped 23 of 24 shots as Philadelphia extended its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1). Justin Williams, Mark Recchi and Donald Brashear scored for the Flyers. Esche has allowed no more than two goals in any of his nine starts. Atlanta's Brad Tapper opened the scoring with his second goal in as many games since being recalled from the minor leagues.
Senators 3, Devils 0
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Martin Havlat set up two first-period goals and Patrick Lalime had 27 saves to lead Ottawa. Radek Bonk scored two goals, including an empty netter. Shaun Van Allen got the other goal, which was the game winner. The loss was the third straight for the Devils.
Maple Leafs 2, Panthers 2
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Jaroslav Bednar scored in the third period, and Roberto Luongo had 29 saves as Florida rallied for the tie. Jay Bouwmeester also scored for the Panthers. Mats Sundin and Tie Domi had goals for the Maple Leafs. Trevor Kidd, starting in Florida for the first time since joining Toronto after last season, had 30 saves.
Hurricanes 1, Lightning 1
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Brad Richards scored in the first period, and Nikolai Khabibulin allowed just one goal against Carolina for a third straight game. The Hurricanes got their goal from Jan Hlavac.
Mighty Ducks 5, Blues 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Jean-Sebastien Giguere allowed his first goal in four games, and Paul Kariya scored twice and had three assists as Anaheim got its fifth straight victory. Giguere made 44 saves while trying to join Bill Durnan of the Montreal Canadiens as the only goaltenders since the inception of the red line in 1943-44 to post four consecutive shutouts. But he had no chance on Al MacInnis' shot from the right circle at 16:52 of the second period. MacInnis scored both St. Louis goals during power plays.
