Chamber selects officers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Steve Lewis, president and chief executive of First Place Bank, has been named chairman of the board at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber for next year.
Other officers will be Thomas Fleming, president of AIM Nationalease, vice chairman; Thomas Clark, regional president of FirstEnergy, vice chairman; William Hanshaw, senior vice president at Butler Wick Trust Co., treasurer.
New members are Timothy Rupert, president and chief executive at RMI Titanium Co.; Adjit Kumar, president of Microsys Computing; and Thomas Hollern, area president of National City Bank.
Apprenticeship program accepting applications
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program will accept applications from Jan. 20-31 for apprenticeship in its heavy equipment operators program. Counties covered include Lawrence and Mercer counties in Pennsylvania and Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in Ohio.
Applications may be picked up between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at Operating Engineers Local 66, 291 McClurg Road, Boardman, or at union offices in Pennsylvania. Applications also may be picked up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 25 at the union's apprenticeship office in New Alexandria, Pa. Call (724) 668-2244 for more information.
