NHL ROUNDUP Monday's games

Rangers 2, Sharks 1, OT
NEW YORK -- Mike Dunham made 25 saves in his Rangers debut, and Petr Nedved scored 2:25 into overtime as New York snapped a five-game losing streak. Nedved, who earlier was stopped on a breakaway, took a pass in the slot from Radek Dvorak, spun and slid a shot past backup goalie Miikka Kiprusoff. Nedved threw his hands up, looking relieved. He missed an open net that would have tied a game last Wednesday in the closing seconds of a one-goal loss to Chicago. Dunham didn't get off to a great start, with Patrick Marleau scoring on San Jose's first shot against him. Matthew Barnaby tied the game for the Rangers in the second period. It was the first time someone other than 19-year-old Dan Blackburn has started in goal for the Rangers since Mike Richter on Nov. 5. That night, Richter sustained a concussion that ended his season and led to the acquisition last Thursday of Dunham from Nashville.
Canadiens 3, Senators 2
OTTAWA -- Yanic Perreault scored with 17.8 seconds remaining, and Montreal allowed two third-period power-play goals before beating Ottawa. Trailing 2-0, Ottawa got a goal from Daniel Alfredsson with 6:21 remaining, and Shaun Van Allen tied it with 1:15 to go. Perreault's 14th goal of the season ended Ottawa's eight-game home winning streak. Montreal, which won its fourth in five games, also got goals from Oleg Petrov and Doug Gilmour, who assisted on Perreault's winner. With his goal, Gilmour became the 14th player in NHL history to reach 1,400 career points.
Thrashers 1, Maple Leafs 0
ATLANTA -- Brad Tapper scored in his first NHL game this season, and Pasi Nurminen got his first career shutout as Atlanta snapped a six-game losing streak. Tapper, recalled from AHL Chicago to replace the injured Dany Heatley, knocked in a feed from Ilya Kovalchuk with just 3:42 remaining. Nurminen, who earned this start because of a solid game Saturday in St. Louis, stopped 30 shots. It was Atlanta's first shutout since March 12 in Colorado, when Milan Hnilicka beat the Avalanche 2-0. The winning goal, just the fourth in five games for the Thrashers, came after Patrik Stefan started a rush on the right side and dropped the puck back to Kovalchuk, who slid it into a crowd in front of the net. It appeared to hit some skates before Tapper banged it by Ed Belfour.
Capitals 2, Avalanche 2
DENVER -- Washington goaltender Olaf Kolzig came off the injured list earlier in the day, then made 35 saves for the Capitals. Patrick Roy stopped 30 shots for Colorado. Jeff Halpern and Jaromir Jagr had goals for the Capitals. Steven Reinprecht and Milan Hejduk scored for Colorado. It was Colorado's 14th overtime game this season and NHL-leading ninth tie. The Avalanche were without two of their stars, Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg, scratched because of ankle and neck injuries, respectively. Kolzig, who had missed the previous four games with a groin injury, had big saves in both the scoreless third period and overtime. Midway through the third period, he stopped Radim Vrbata from the slot after he took a perfect pass from Reinprecht. Kolzig also stopped Alex Tanguay from the right circle in overtime.
