Store robbery
VERNON -- A convenience store was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash at gunpoint Saturday evening, a 911 supervisor said. A slender, 6-foot-tall white male wearing a stocking cap and blue jeans pointed a handgun at a clerk at Meloni's Market, 6100 state Route 7 at 7:22 p.m., the supervisor said. The clerk believes the robber left on foot; no getaway car was seen, the supervisor said. There were no injuries.
Scouts at center
NILES -- The Niles Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will have the annual Niles Cub Scout Christmas Program at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. This year's program, sponsored by Cub Scout Pack 135 of Niles, will feature a posting of colors by the Scouts and skits performed by Webelo and Cub Scout troops. Scouts will also decorate a tree at the center with ornaments they made. Awards for Scouting achievements will be given.

Library holiday hours
All locations of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library will be closed Dec. 22 to Dec. 25. Libraries also will close at noon Dec. 31 and remain closed New Year's Day. McKinley Memorial Library, 40 N. Main St., Niles, will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the holiday season.
The library will be open normal hours Dec. 22-23, Dec. 26-30 and Jan. 2.
Patrons are reminded not to return audio-visual items in the book drop; only books and magazines can be left in the book drop.
Puppet ministry show
HUBBARD -- The Orbit Heaven Puppet Ministry will perform a Christmas program at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brentford House, 737 Myron St. The group of area teens brings Christianity's message of love and hope to congregations, nursing homes and schools all year. The hand puppets "sing" inspirational music and perform skits.
YMCA fun camp
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown YMCA Holiday Fun Camp will be Dec. 23, 26, 27, 30 and 31.
