SIDELIGHTS For all seniors

Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, 124 E. Leasure Ave., New Castle, Pa., has scheduled the following winter classes and workshops for seniors citizens: a drawing class to be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and a watercolor class scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Materials will be provided by the institute, and the cost for each is $85 for members and $95 for nonmembers. A special-effects ceramic glazing workshop is planned for 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 22. The fee is $22.50 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., Niles, events are as follows: Monday, goldenagers, quilters and cards at 1 p.m., men singers at 2:15, and cards, sandwich and beverage for $1 at 8; Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., sack lunch at noon and blood pressure screening at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, card and board games and foot care at 9:30 a.m., tai chi at 10 (cost is $3), sack lunch and birthday party at 11:30 a.m., bingo at 1 p.m. and cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m., Red Cross blood drawing 12:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and pinochle, bridge and senior players at 1 p.m.; and Friday, gourmet group at 9 a.m. and mixed chorus at 1 p.m. Reservations are required for the following events: VIP luncheon Wednesday, cost is $5; Radio City Rockettes in Cleveland Wednesday, cost is $65; and New Year's Eve dinner and dancing Dec. 31, cost is $18.
