FINANCE
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania has promoted Peter J. Asimakopoulos as president and chief executive officer in its central regional market. Asimakopoulos has more than 17 years of banking experience and had been senior vice president for commercial banking for First National. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
WARREN -- Second National Bank has appointed Peter T. Zeller to vice president-compliance officer. A graduate of Youngstown State University, he has a bachelor's degree in economics and lives in Girard.
FUNERAL SERVICES
VIENNA -- Selby-Cole Funeral Home/Crown Hill Chapel and Crown Hill Burial Park has added William Whetstone to its staff as funeral director. Whetstone is a a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Youngstown State University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He is a licensed funeral director and holds an Ohio insurance license.
TECHNOLOGY
BOARDMAN -- Microsys Computing, a medical practice software developer, has appointed Toni M. Stefan to director of business development. Stefan has been in the health-care field for 18 years and was a co-founder of Niche Technologies in Youngstown.
HEALTH CARE
HOWLAND -- Shepherd of the Valley has named Traci Luther activities director for its Howland facility on North River Road. A Youngstown resident, Luther has a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and is certified as a therapeutic recreational specialist.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Dr. John F. Smith Jr., M.D., a gastroenterologist, has joined the medical staff of UPMC Horizon. His office is in the Womancare Center on North Hermitage Road, and he will be working out of the Greenville and Shenango Valley medical centers.
Before joining UPMC Dr. Smith was in private practice and was an associate clinical professor at Shadyside Medical Associates in Pittsburgh. He completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh and an internship and residency in internal medicine at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of VIrginia and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

AUSTINTOWN -- Marcus Thomas LLC, a communications firm based in Cleveland with offices in Austintown, has promoted two employees.
Rachael Frengel of Poland has been named director of print production services. Formerly production manager, she has a bachelor's degree in communications from Seton Hall University.
John Paul Cervone of Youngstown is the new system support specialist.
He joined the company as a computer and network technician and has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Youngstown State University.
INDUSTRY
YOUNGSTOWN -- Elaine Eickhoff, a Youngstown native, has been promoted to outside sales representative at O'Neal Steel in Birmingham, Ala., a family-owned metals service center. She will be based in Pittsburgh and will be servicing and developing accounts in northern Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio.
Eickhoff joined the company in 1989. She attended Kent State University.
