BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Miroslav Satan scored with 13.7 seconds remaining in regulation, lifting the Buffalo Sabres into a tie with the Chicago Blackhawks. Satan, who has scored in three of four games, was stationed on the right side of the net and tucked in a pass from Ales Kotalik for his 10th of the season. Alexei Zhamnov scored on a penalty shot and Jocelyn Thibault made 26 saves -- four in overtime -- for Chicago. The Blackhawks had a three-game winning streak snapped. Martin Biron made 26 stops for Buffalo, which has earned a point in four of five games (3-1-1).
Stars 3, Thrashers 1
DALLAS (AP) -- Bill Guerin scored his team-high 14th goal and Marty Turco stopped 21 shots as Dallas beat Atlanta. Jason Arnott had a third-period goal for the Stars, 11-1-2-1 at home this season. Mike Modano scored his 12th of the season into an empty net with 32.2 seconds left to clinch the victory. Tony Hrkac's power-play goal that cut the lead to 2-1 with 8:31 remaining ended Turco's bid for his fifth shutout of the season and 10th career. Pasi Nurminen had 37 saves for Atlanta. Dallas has won all six meetings with Atlanta since the Thrashers entered the NHL.
Oilers 4, Avalanche 3, OT
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Jason Chimera scored 3:21 into overtime for Edmonton Chimera knocked a rebound past Patrick Roy on Edmonton's only shot of overtime. Georges Laraque scored for Edmonton to tie it 3-3 less than 10 minutes into the third period. Mike York and Anson Carter also scored for Edmonton. Milan Hejduk, Eric Messier and former Oilers player Dean McAmmond scored for Colorado.
Florida 3, Islanders 3
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Kristian Huselius scored the tying goal with 4:08 left in regulation, his first tally in six games, to rally the Panthers. Olli Jokinen and Ryan Johnson also had goals for Florida, who tied the game twice. Kenny Jonsson, Shawn Bates and Jason Blake scored for the Islanders. Chris Osgood made two great saves for the Islanders in overtime. Florida's Roberto Luongo also kept the teams deadlocked when he stopped a shot by Alexei Yashin from the slot with 50 seconds left that knocked the wind out of him. With 10.4 seconds remaining, he made a glove save on a shot by Blake. Luongo had 38 saves, including 15 in the first period.
Capitals 4, Coyotes 3
PHOENIX -- Mike Grier had two goals and an assist for Washington. The Coyotes had two goals disallowed, including Daniel Briere's apparent score on a rebound with 29 seconds left. Officials ruled that defenseman Paul Mara was guilty of a high stick before the shot. In a rare fan outburst in Phoenix, fans threw programs and plastic bottles onto the ice, stopping play for about five minutes. Steve Konowalchuk and Michael Nylander also scored for Washington and Sebastien Charpentier had 30 saves.
