Mooney girls rip Fitch for fourth win

AUSTINTOWN -- Pam Wallco led three players in double figures as the Cardinal Mooney High girls basketball team defeated Austintown Fitch 65-29 in a Steel Valley Conference game Thursday night.
Wallco scored 13 points, Gina Brunetti added 12 and Megan Maloney scored 10 for the Cardinals (4-1, 1-1 SVC)
Krista Mayes led Fitch (2-5, 0-2) with eight points.
Liberty 84, LaBrae 16
LEAVITTSBURG -- Senior guard Jessica White and junior post player Lena Esmail both scored 11 points in the first quarter, when Liberty exploded to take a 30-6 lead en route to winning the Trumbull Athletic Conference game Thursday night.
White finished with 25 points, while Esmail added 22 for the Leopards (4-2, 3-1), who bounced back from a 12-point loss to Hubbard on Monday.
Anita Simmons had eight points for LaBrae (0-6, 0-4).
