YOUNGSTOWN Mississippi native is YSU's new assistant general counsel

YOUNGSTOWN -- Darrin R. Toney, former associate attorney at the Brennan, Manna & amp; Diamond law firm in Akron, is the new assistant general counsel at Youngstown State University.
A native of Mississippi, Toney is a 1995 graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Delta State University in 1991.
Toney was a judicial attorney in the Summit County Court of Common Pleas after his law school graduation and later taught at Mount Union College in Canton and the University of Akron. He was legal counsel for the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services from April 1999 to March 2001, when he went to Brennan, Manna & amp; Diamond.
He is a member of the Ohio State and Akron bar associations, the Akron Summit Community Action Agency board of trustees and the Big Brother and Sisters of Greater Akron.
