NEW YORK -- Theo Fleury scored in his return to Madison Square Garden and Eric Daze added three goals for Chicago. Defenseman Nathan Dempsey had a career-high four assists as the Blackhawks dealt the Rangers their fourth straight loss. Mikael Samuelsson, Petr Nedved and Rico Fata scored for New York, which mustered a season-best 49 shots, including 20 in a frantic third period, at Jocelyn Thibault. The Rangers were missing captain Mark Messier because of a stiff neck and lost defenseman Sylvain Lefebvre in the second period to a broken right index finger.

DALLAS -- Jason Allison and Adam Deadmarsh each had a goal and two assists, and Jamie Storr got his 14th career shutout as Los Angeles handed Dallas its first home defeat in regulation this season. Linemates Allison, Deadmarsh and Ziggy Palffy scored goals, and the Kings shut out the Stars for the second time in as many meetings this season and third straight overall. Storr, making his sixth appearance of the season, made 22 saves. Los Angeles has a shutout streak of 120 minutes, 19 seconds.

PHOENIX -- Shane Doan scored a tie-breaking goal early in the third period, and goaltender Brian Boucher made 16 saves as Phoenix rallied from a 2-0 deficit for its first home win in 10 games. Landon Wilson had a goal and an assist, and Danny Markov and Ladislav Nagy also scored for Phoenix. Boucher gave up goals to Yannick Tremblay and Tony Hrkac in the first 27:08, but made 10 saves after that, including eight stops in the third period.
Oilers 4, Hurricanes 1
EDMONTON -- Mike York scored two goals and Tommy Salo stopped 36 shots as Edmonton scored three goals in an 11-minute span of the second period and won its third straight. Ryan Smyth and Mike Comrie also scored for the Oilers. Sean Hill scored for the Hurricanes.
Canucks 3, Avalanche 1
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Brendan Morrison and Daniel Sedin scored power-play goals and Vancouver overcame Joe Sakic's 500th career goal to snap a two-game losing streak. Mattias Ohlund also scored for Vancouver, and Dan Cloutier made 26 saves for the Canucks. Patrick Roy finished with 25 saves, but the Avalanche have one win in their last six games.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Defenseman Fredrik Olausson had a goal and an assist in his 1,000th NHL game and Anaheim extended its home unbeaten streak to six games. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 26 saves for his second consecutive shutout, and Pavel Trnka and Andy McDonald also scored for Anaheim. Washington goaltender Sebastien Charpentier made 27 saves in his second game since being recalled from the Portland of the AHL on Friday.
