5 face drug charges after police raid
YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the vice squad raided two homes Wednesday afternoon and made five arrests.
At 403 W. LaClede Ave. on the South Side, police arrested:
UMonique Stubbins, 28, of that address, on charges of drug abuse-marijuana, permitting drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police found a scale under a couch and two bags of marijuana on a coffee table.
UDerrick Sherman, 25, also of that address, on charges of aggravated trafficking in crack and drug abuse-marijuana. Police found Sherman on a bed and, next to him, a bag of crack and two bags of marijuana.
UMarniese Kimbrough, 25, of Ellenwood Avenue, on a charge of trafficking in marijuana. Police, after using a battering ram to enter the house, found Kimbrough on a bedroom floor and, next to him inside a laundry basket, a large bag containing 30 smaller bags of marijuana.
At 835 Lyden Ave. on the North Side, police arrested:
UKevin Brown, 20, of that address, on charges of drug abuse-Tussinex and drug abuse-marijuana. Police found a large marijuana plant in the basement and a bottle of Tussinex (a powerful painkiller) with the label removed.
UMarcus Love, 19, of Miami Avenue, on charges of possession of drug-abuse paraphernalia and drug abuse-marijuana. When police arrived, Love was running out the back door. The officers ordered him to stop, but he ran back into the house and into the basement, where he placed a bag of marijuana and marijuana pipe under a loveseat, reports show.
