BOYS BASKETBALL Campbell corrals consecutive wins



Late baskets by James Torbert and Teyon Harris sealed Campbell's win over Rayen.
CAMPBELL -- The Campbell Memorial High boys basketball team won its second straight game after three losses with a 55-50 decision over Rayen.
Campbell won despite hitting just 13 of 29 from the foul line.
Jamal Higgs scored 11 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter for Rayen (1-2).
The Tigers trailed 42-33 heading into the fourth quarter, but trimmed their deficit to 46-45 with just over two minutes remaining.
Campbell scored the next two baskets, one by James Torbert and the other by Teyon Harris, to push the lead back to 50-45.
Harris scored 14 points in the game
Poland 63, West Branch 39
POLAND -- The Bulldogs scored 26 points in the third quarter to turn a narrow 19-17 margin at the half into a 45-30 cushion entering the final eight minutes.
Poland had more rebounds (38-26) and made more baskets, 25-17.
Lakeview 62, Canfield 43
CANFIELD -- Jeff Ellens had 13 points and Kevin Rigby added 11 to lead Lakeview (4-0), which unleashed a well-balanced attack.
Frank Turocy had 20 points for Canfield (1-2).
East Liverpool 75, Salem 54
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Brian Kreefer shot 10-for-15 from the field for 24 points for the Potters (3-1).
Zac Grey led the Quakers (2-1) with 18 points.
McDonald 58, Jackson-Milton 36
MCDONALD -- Kevin Stonestreet scored 23 points and Nick Rubenstahl added 11 for McDonald in an Inter-County League game.
The Blue Devils (3-0, 1-0) fell behind 15-10 in the first quarter, but bounced back to outscore the Bluejays 16-5 in the second period and 15-2 in the third quarter.
Tim Shaw paced Jackson-Milton with 23 points.
Mathews 54, Lowellville 51
LOWELLVILLE -- The Mustangs (2-2, 1-0) used an 18-8 fourth quarter advantage to rally past the Rockets (0-3, 0-1).
John Mintus led the Mustangs with 20 points and Gary Jones added 11.
Andy Peterson sparked the Rockets (0-3, 0-1) with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Jack Noble finished with 11 points.
United 76, Lisbon 66
LISBON -- The Blue Devils were behind 54-50 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Golden Eagles put the game away with a 22-16 spurt.
Grant Cope took scoring honors for United (2-0, 1-0) with 29 points. Jason Sidwell added 19 and Mitch Phyllis had 14.
Lucian Smith led the Blue Devils (1-1, 0-1) with 27 points.
East Palestine 58, Southern 56
SALINEVILLE -- Chad Jones put in a layup at the buzzer to snap a 56-56 tie and give East Palestine the victory in a Tri-County League game.
Jones finished with 17 points, while Brett Young led the Bulldogs (1-2, 1-0) with 25 points. Jones also had 10 rebounds, while Smitty Kendrew added six.
Brandon Lewis had eight assists with six points, while Jason Braden had three steals.
Josh Diaz had 16 points and Brandon Hamilton 14 to lead Southern Local.
