Warren man faces charges in shooting
FARRELL, Pa. -- Police have charged a Warren, Ohio, man with attempted homicide and other criminal counts in the Nov. 1, 2001, shooting of a Sharon man.
Solomon Owens, 24, of Hamilton Avenue, Warren, was arraigned before District Justice Henry Russo on Friday on counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and a firearm violation.
He remained in Mercer County Jail on $50,000 bond.
Owens is accused of shooting Robert Mosley, 29, of Mesabi Street, Sharon, in the left side of the abdomen with a .25-caliber handgun during a dispute at C. Brown's Banquet Center at 300 Roemer Blvd. shortly after 12 a.m. Nov. 1, 2001.
That business has since closed, police said.
Owens has been in custody in Trumbull County on unrelated charges and could only recently be returned to Pennsylvania to face charges in the shooting of Mosley, police said.
Mosley was hospitalized for several days after the shooting, police said.
