LEETONIA -- American Demolition Co. of Canton will begin demolition of the Washingtonville Elementary and Leetonia High School buildings in January. The board of education awarded the contract Monday for $134,882, Superintendent Tom Inchak said.
Inchak said that with assurances from architects that the new football stadium can be constructed and ready for play in the fall of 2003, the old stadium adjacent to the old high school will also be demolished. The new stadium is being planned near the district's new school complex on Walnut street, with plans for seating for 1,500 to 1,700 fans, he said.
Canfield budget plans

The temporary budget, approved Monday, is subject to change.
