Mother charged with endangering
BOARDMAN -- A township woman is due back in court Jan. 13 on charges of child endangering, after police found her 4-year-old son wandering the streets early Sunday.
Lisa Mae Dillon, 27, of Shields Road pleaded innocent to the child-endangering charge in Boardman area court Monday. She also faces a felony charge of receiving stolen property, but no plea was accepted on that charge.
Police say the child was found wandering alone near the street at Shields Road and Lockwood Boulevard at about 5:40 a.m. According to Capt. Richard Balog, Dillon said the child was left alone only for a short time, but he said an hour of time is unaccounted for. Dillon was arrested at 7:15 a.m.
At the time of the arrest, reports say, Dillon was carrying more than $2,300 in cash and bundles of Ohio Lottery instant scratch-off tickets in their original packaging -- leading to the charge of receiving stolen property.
The owner of Raccoon Road Beer and Wine, for which Dillon is a manager, filed a report with the Austintown Township police department about the lottery tickets.
