GIRLS HOOPS JFK wins overtime game at Ravenna



The Eagles first had to make up an 11-point fourth quarter deficit.
RAVENNA -- Trailing by 11 points with about five minutes remaining, Warren Kennedy High rallied to tie the score, then surged in overtime to defeat Ravenna, 56-49, Monday night, in a girls basketball game.
The Eagles' Allison Brys scored a basket with five seconds remaining to tie the score at 46. Renee Black scored seven of her team-high 15 points in overtime to lead Kennedy.
Alyssa Chaves added 11 points and Krystal Naples scored 10 for JFK (3-1), while Aarika Knepp had 15 rebounds and eight points, and Jaclyn Santisi 12 rebounds.
Tina Pischera tallied 19 points to pace Ravenna and Ashley Stefansic tacked on 10.
Hubbard 63, Liberty 51
HUBBARD -- Katy Jo Mroski collected 23 points and 13 rebounds and Lynle Cornell tacked on 17 points for the Eagles in the Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Jami Duvall also had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Hubbard.
Jessica White paced Liberty with 18 points.
Champion 48, Lakeview 27
CORTLAND -- Jessica Carpenter scored 14 points and Heather Pegg 10 to pace Champion (3-1, 1-1 TAC).
Megan McBride had 11 points and 11 rebounds to pace Lakeview (0-5, 0-3).
Newton Falls 59, LaBrae 12
NEWTON FALLS -- Desiree Sterling had 16 points, Megan McElravy scored 10 and Kassi Collins scored nine with nine rebounds to spark Newton Falls (4-1, 2-1 TAC).
Amanda Zeleny grabbed nine rebounds and had five points for the Tigers. Anita Simmons had five points for LaBrae (0-4, 0-2).
Maplewood 46, Lordstown 13
MECCA -- Stephanie Schwartz fired in 16 points to spark Maplewood (2-3, 1-0 Northeastern Conference), which outscored Lordstown in the second half by 28-3.
Natalie Bailey had six points for Lordstown (1-6, 0-1).
Rootstown 55, Southeast 49
RAVENNA -- Alicia Stoner sank 21 points to lead Rootstown, which outscored Southeast 25-18 in the last quarter.
Sarah Cook contributed 11 points and Lyndsey Shaw nine for Rootstown.
Sarah Gintert tallied 24 points to spark Southeast, while Kay Dillon added 11.
