NEW YORK -- Bryan Berard and Joe Thornton scored goals late in the second period, leading Eastern Conference-leading Boston past New York. Ivan Huml and Marty McInnis added third-period goals for the Bruins, who won for the seventh time in eight games. John Grahame made 23 saves to improve to 9-2-1. Mark Messier scored the only goal for the Rangers, who have lost three straight.
Oilers 3, Thrashers 0
ATLANTA -- Tommy Salo stopped 15 shots for his third shutout in 10 games as Edmonton beat Atlanta. Jiri Dopita, Ethan Moreau and Anson Carter scored for the Oilers, 10-2-1 in their last 13 games. They've allowed just 18 goals in that span, and have limited opponents to two or fewer goals in 10 of the 13. The shutout was the 33rd of Salo's career, and third of the season.
Red Wings 4, Blues 3, OT
DETROIT -- Henrik Zetterberg's goal 1:59 into overtime gave Detroit a victory in a matchup of the Central Division's two top teams. Zetterberg one-timed a pass from Jason Woolley past St. Louis goaltender Fred Brathwaite from the bottom of the right circle. The Red Wings took a two-point lead in the division over the Blues. Peter Cajanek's goal with 2:12 remaining in the third period tied the score at 3 for St. Louis and sent it into overtime. Chris Chelios' goal with 2:52 remaining gave Detroit a 3-2 lead.
Blackhawks 3, Lightning 1
CHICAGO -- Theo Fleury scored a tie-breaking goal with 4:57 remaining in the third period for Chicago. Fleury, playing only his second game this season, scored when his shot from right wing struck the post and angled in over the goal line behind Tampa Bay goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin. It was the second goal in two games for Fleury, who was suspended for 25 games for violating terms of the league's substance abuse aftercare program. Steve McCarthy scored in the first period for the Blackhawks, who got en empty-net goal from Igor Korolev.
Mighty Ducks 3, Predators 0
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Fredrik Olausson and Petr Sykora had power-play goals and Jean-Sebastien Giguere posted his 10th career shutout for Anaheim. Defenseman Niclas Havelid matched a career high with his fourth goal and Andy McDonald had two assists for the Ducks, who have won their last four meetings with the Predators and five straight against them at the Pond. Giguere didn't have to make a save until Denis Pederson took a wrist shot from 4 feet inside the blue line with 5:46 remaining in the first period.
