RAVENNA ODOT plans repairs, resurfacing for both state and U.S. routes

RAVENNA -- The Ohio Department of Transportation is proposing repairs and resurfacing in the spring to nearly 10 miles of state Route 167 and nearly three miles of U.S. Route 6 in Ashtabula County.
The $690,000 project will extend Route 167 from the Route 11/167 interchange to the Ohio-Pennsylvania line. It will extend Route 6 from state Route 7 to the Pennsylvania line.
No new right-of-way will be required, and the project won't affect any cultural resources or suspected hazardous waste sites, or result in substantial impacts to the environment, ODOT said.
During construction, a minimum of one lane will be maintained in each direction on Route 167 and Route 6, except when Route 167 is closed to replace a culvert just east of the Route 11/167 interchange.
The closure will be in place for a maximum of 14 consecutive days. Closure on Route 167 will also be required to replace culverts just east and west of the Route 167/193 intersection for a maximum of seven consecutive days.
Detour signs will be posted.
Access will be maintained to all properties throughout construction, which is set for completion by fall
Questions and/or comments regarding this project may be submitted to ODOT's District 4 office in Ravenna by Dec. 19.
