Mr. and Mrs. David Longmore feted at dinner for their 50th anniversary
XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. David Longmore of 81 Alverne Drive were the guests of honor at a family dinner Nov. 23 at T.J.'s Restaurant in Boardman in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary.
Arrangements for the observance were made by the couple's children and their spouses, Carol and Ken Tenney, David and Patty Longmore and Patrick Longmore, all of Poland. One grandson completes their family.
Mr. Longmore and the former Claire McCarthy were married Nov. 14, 1952, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea and retired in 1991 from Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell, Pa., where he worked as a machinist for 43 years. He is a past president and coach for the Poland Community Baseball Association and participated in area bowling leagues. He is a member of Holy Family Church.
His wife worked at Murphy's Department Store until 1954, when she became a homemaker. She also served as a Girl Scout leader in the 1960s and was active in area bowling leagues.
