WASHINGTON -- On a Saturday afternoon in which No. 2 Texas was rendered defenseless, James Thomas provided enough muscle on the opposite end to make up for the shortcoming as the Longhorns defeated George Washington, 100-92.
Thomas scored a career-high 26 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and led two second-half runs as the Longhorns (5-0) squeezed past George Washington (3-2).
No. 3 Alabama 77, St. Bonaventure 68
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Erwin Dudley tied a career high with 28 points and had 17 rebounds to lead third-ranked Alabama (6-0) to a school-record 23rd straight home victory.
Patricio Prato had 14 of his 19 points in the second half for St. Bonaventure (2-4).
Kenny Walker had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Alabama.
No. 4 Duke 81, Michigan 59
DURHAM, N.C. -- Daniel Ewing and Dahntay Jones had 17 points each as the fourth-ranked Blue Devils won for the fifth straight time in the series.
Chris Duhon added 15 points and six first-half steals for Duke (5-0).
Lester Abram scored 14 points for Michigan (0-6), which is off to its worst start in its 93-year history.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Ebi Ere scored a career-high 33 points and Hollis Price had 17 to lead Oklahoma.
Kevin Bookout had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Sooners (4-1).
Aaron Cook led Hartford (2-2) with 16 points.

PORTLAND, Ore. --Luke Jackson scored 26 points and Luke Ridnour added 25 and nine assists as the Ducks (5-0) avenged last season's NCAA Tournament loss to Kansas.
Kirk Hinrich led the Jayhawks (3-3) with 24 points.
Notre Dame 79, No. 9 Maryland 67
WASHINGTON -- Freshman Torin Francis scored a 20 points on 8-for-8 shooting as Notre Dame stunned Maryland, leaving the defending national champions mired in their first losing streak since February 2001.
Matt Carroll had 19 points and former Terrapin Dan Miller added 17 for the unranked Irish (7-1), who never trailed after taking control late in the first half.
Steve Blake scored 15 points for the Terrapins.
No. 10 Indiana 91, Illinois-Chicago 62
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Coach Mike Davis wanted Jeff Newton more involved in the Indiana offense Saturday. So he built the game plan around him.
Newton provided the inside force, scoring 25 points and grabbing 12 rebounds for his third straight double-double to lead the Hoosiers.
The Hoosiers (6-0) finished with eight blocks, four from Newton, and outrebounded the Flames 48-40.
No. 16 Xavier 50, Cincinnati 44
CINCINNATI -- David West scored 23 points and No. 16 Xavier held on.
Xavier (4-1) has won five of the last seven games in the crosstown series. West's fourth and final game against Cincinnati (3-2) was by far his most impressive.
Leonard Stokes scored 13 points to lead Cincinnati, which shot only 30 percent from the field.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Gerald Fitch and Marquis Estill scored all of Kentucky's points during an 18-2 run to start the second half.
Fitch finished with a career-high 25 points, while Estill and Keith Bogans added 20 for the Wildcats (4-1).
Rashad McCants scored 22 to lead the Tar Heels (5-2).
No. 13 Marquette 101, Appalachian St. 78
MILWAUKEE -- Dwyane Wade scored 31 points for Marquette, which used a 27-3 run to pull away from Appalachian State.
Robert Jackson added 25 points and 13 rebounds for Marquette (5-1).
Johnathon Mitchell led Appalachian State (2-2) with 22 points.
No. 23 Wisconsin 91, UNLV 74
MADISON, Wis. -- Freshman Alando Tucker made the most of his first career start, scoring 24 points and grabbing 18 rebounds for Wisconsin (5-1).
Kirk Penney scored 17 points for the Badgers (5-1).
Darlon Johnson led UNLV with 19 points. James Peters added 18 and J.K. Edwards 16.
No. 24 Mississippi State 78, Louisiana Tech 38
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State was not about to be dealt another Louisiana surprise.
Michal Ignerski had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs cruised past overmatched Louisiana Tech.
The Bulldogs (5-1) raced to a 37-22 lead at the half and cruised the rest of the way.
