XQUANTICO, Va. -- The U.S. Marine Corps Memorial Chapel was the setting at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 for the military wedding of Laura Ruth LeMieux, daughter of David Sr. and Nancy LeMieux of Fredericksburg, Va., and 1st Lt. Christopher Martin Paes, son of Martin and Dianne Paes, Dartmouth Drive, Canfield.
The Rev. David Meng officiated, and a reception followed at Bristow Manor Golf Club in Dumphries, Va.
Elizabeth White was matron of honor for her sister, and maid of honor was Laura Green. They wore burgundy gowns, as did the bridesmaids, Jeanette Crispin; Elizabeth Morris; Beth Paes, the groom's sister; and Rebecca Spence.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, John Paes, and serving as groomsmen were David Black; Jason Hanna; David LeMieux Jr., the bride's brother; Christopher McFarland; and Bryan Peluso.
Also participating were Elizabeth Lasker and the groom's sister-in-law, Hope Paes.
The couple are living in Oceanside, Calif.
Mrs. Paes graduated from the College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in history. She was employed at the Rappahannock Area YMCA in Falmouth, Va., prior to her marriage, and will be employed as a paralegal in California.
The groom is a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science. He is a commissioned officer with the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
