Chorale plans shows
SHARON, Pa. -- The 100-member Shenango Valley Chorale, based in Sharon, will perform holiday concerts, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Dec. 15. Friday's performance is at Wallace Chapel, Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa.; Saturday's concert is at First Presbyterian Church in Sharon; and the Dec. 15 offering is at East Main Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
The chorale, under the direction of Edgar S. Groves, is accompanied by Cynthia Brea Ward on piano.
The holiday concert includes "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten; "Still, Still, Still" arranged by Norman Luboff; "Masters In This Hall" arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw; "Canticle of Carols" arranged by Linda Spevacek-Avery; "Star Carol" by John Rutter; "Carol of the Bells" by Peter J. Wilhosky; "White Christmas" by Irving Berlin; "The Little Drummer Boy" arranged by Harry Simeone; and the Paul Sjolund arrangement of "Silent Night."
Performance at Bliss
YOUNGSTOWN -- Howland native Alton Merrell of the Youngstown State University Jazz Studies Program will perform in YSU's Bliss Recital Hall at 8 p.m. Monday. The concert is free and open to the public. Merrell is a YSU cum laude graduate and Howland High School alumni. A pianist, he will be accompanied by Dave Morgan, bass; Nathan Douds, drums; Brian Connell, saxophone; Chad Gridley, flute; and James Suggs, trumpet. The group will perform selections from McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Bud Powell and original compositions by Merrell, who is pursuing a master's degree in jazz piano performance at YSU.
As a teaching assistant, Alton instructs applied jazz and classical piano, jazz keyboard and jazz combo, and is music director at New Jerusalem Fellowship Church in Warren.
Student media projects
CLEVELAND -- Today, from 1 to 6 p.m., the Cleveland Museum of Art will showcase 13 of 26 digital student media projects aimed at capturing the cultural and educational experience of University Circle. The students are from Case Western Reserve University's New Media Center, the Cleveland Institute of Art's Technology and Integrated Media Environment program, Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve's Weatherhead School of Management.

NEW YORK -- Wavexpress, a broadband technology company, and Videofashion, a top provider of fashion-related programming, have launched Model TV, a style channel for broadband Internet users.
Model TV is a Web-based video channel dedicated to providing the latest fashion coverage. The channel is delivered to the home computer via broadband, and stored locally on the hard drive.
Subscribers use a customized menu to navigate directly to the content they want to watch.
Model TV is available from Wavexpress' TVTonic player, as part of a $3.95 subscription package. Majority owned by Wave Systems Corp., Wavexpress provides broadband users with access to a network of IP-based channels that download to the home computer.
