The CDC Public Response Hotline offers clear, concise, up-to-date information on anthrax, smallpox, botulism and other biological and chemical agents to the general public. Service is available for English and Spanish speakers and for the deaf and hard of hearing. Telephone service is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.. Stroke screening

Cancer research
CLEVELAND -- Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a consortium of Ohio research institutions and companies will use a $10.2 million grant from the state's tobacco fund to develop genetics research of gastrointestinal cancers. The state money will be matched by the participating institutions, including Ohio State University, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University Hospitals of Cleveland, the University of Cincinnati and nine Ohio-based companies.
