Bruins 4, Thrashers 3, OT
BOSTON -- Glen Murray scored twice, including at 1:53 of overtime, to spoil the return of goalie Byron Dafoe. Dafoe (2-2-0) made 36 saves in his first start against the Bruins since signing with Atlanta on Nov. 20th. Jozef Stumpel and Hal Gill also scored for Boston. Ilya Kovalchuk scored twice and Yannick Tremblay added a goal for the Thrashers, who got even with three goals in a span of 1:59 late in the second period.
Lightning 3, Oilers 2
TAMPA, Fla. -- Ruslan Fedotenko scored the tie-breaking goal with three minutes remaining in the third period. Mike Comrie and Anson Carter scored for Edmonton, which had a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) end. Pavel Kubina and Vincent Lecavalier had the other Lightning goals.
Flyers 3, Rangers 2, OT
PHILADELPHIA -- Michal Handzus became the second player in NHL history to score an overtime goal on a penalty shot when he beat New York's Dan Blackburn with 36.7 seconds remaining. Handzus joined Nashville's David Legwand as the only players to score with an overtime penalty shot. Legwand also beat the Rangers on Dec. 23, 2000. Former Flyers captain Eric Lindros scored his fifth goal in six games late in the second period to pull the Rangers into a 2-2 tie. Mark Recchi had a goal and an assist and Jeremy Roenick scored the other goal for the Flyers. Bobby Holik scored the other New York goal, and Matthew Barnaby had two assists for the Rangers.
Red Wings 5, Coyotes 3
PHOENIX -- Darren McCarty and Brendan Shanahan each scored in the game's first 97 seconds for Detroit. Tomas Holstrom, Kirk Maltby and Nicklas Lidstrom also scored for the Red Wings. Andrei Nazarov scored his second goal in as many games, and Tony Amonte and Shane Doan added goals for the Coyotes.
Blues 2, Senators 2
ST. LOUIS -- Marian Hossa scored on his own rebound with 1:06 remaining in regulation for Ottawa. Scott Mellanby's power-play goal had given the Blues a 2-1 lead. Doug Weight also scored with the man advantage for the Blues. Chris Phillips got the other goal for the Senators.
Wild 1, Flames 1
CALGARY, Alberta -- Roman Turek stopped 34 shots for Calgary. Turek's biggest save came in overtime when he stopped Sergei Zholtok on a breakaway with about two minutes remaining. Minnesota outshot Calgary 35-20. Andrew Brunette pulled Minnesota even at 13:27.
Predators 3, Kings 2
LOS ANGELES -- Andy Delmore and rookie Adam Hall had power-play goals, and Scott Walker also scored as Nashville overshadowed Jason Allison's return to Los Angeles' lineup. Denis Arkhipov and Kimmo Timonen each had two assists, and Tomas Vokoun made 19 saves. Rookie Michael Cammalleri scored for the Kings just 51 seconds into the third period. Mathieu Schneider added his sixth goal on a power play with 5:13 remaining.
