DISTRICT BOYS PREVIEW Campbell hopes quickness overcomes a lack of height

The Red Devils' tallest player is 6-1 and there's only one senior on the roster.
CAMPBELL -- With only two lettermen back, one of them a senior, the Campbell Memorial High boys basketball team has a big challenge confronting it for the 2002-03 season.
Coach Bob Fick, in his sixth season, led the Red Devils to a 10-11 record last year.
One of the losses was to Warren JFK in a first-round tournament game.
Campbell returns junior letterman Chris Minik and Rick Quinn, both guards.
The Red Devils' tallest players are 6-1, so the team will be relying on speed and quickness for success.
Warren Kennedy
WARREN -- Another school that will be counting on a pair of veteran guards lettermen Keith Black and Colin Clemente is Warren John F. Kennedy.
John Condoleon (63-49), starting his sixth season as the Eagles' coach, will be counting on Black (15-point average) and Clemente (12.5) to help JFK improved on last season's 10-10 record.
One of the Eagles' goals is to play for the 2003 district championship, and that's a possibility because of returning lettermen Luke Vincer, 6-5; Adam Snyder, 6-4 and John DeFiore, 6-3, who have plenty of experience.
West Branch
BELOIT -- West Branch High, with six lettermen back, hopes to place in the upper half of the Northeastern Buckeye Conference standings.
Coach Lou Sellarolli (55-52) led the Warriors to a 9-11 record, including 6-8 in the NBC, a year ago and is building the squad around seniors Sam Jones, 6-0; Robert Stull, 6-0; Tim Keene, 6-2 and Corey Wonner, 6-1.
Beaver Local
LISBON -- Beaver Local returns five lettermen with plenty of experience, but lacks depth.
Beavers coach Mike Solterbeck, in his third year, will try to improve on last year's 15-6 record.
Senior lettermen back are Dan Wilson, 6-0 guard; Darek Smith, 6-6 forward; Daniel Higgins, 6-3 forward; and juniors Jake Robinson, 6-1 guard, who was quarterback for the Beavers' in the state football playoffs; and Pat Woods, 6-4 forward.
East Liverpool
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Coach Nick Aloi (268-89) begins his 16th season at East Liverpool.
The Potters (14-6) will feature senior Josh Reed, 6-2 guard, rated one of the top guards in the state.
Reed has signed a Division I basketball scholarship to attend Morehead State next year.
Three-year letterman Roosevelt Kirby, 6-4 forward, is also an outstanding athlete.
Justin Campbell, 5-9 senior guard and Scott Scales, 6-0 junior guard, are being counted on by Aloi for leadership.
