USA Hockey picks players for tourney

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Yale University sophomore Chris Higgins, the leading scorer on the U.S. National Junior Team two years ago, heads a list of 22 players selected Wednesday for the 2003 team.
The team will compete Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in the World Championship in Nova Scotia, Canada. Lou Vairo is the coach.
Also selected were Dustin Brown of Ithica, N.Y.; Dwight Helminen of Brighton, Mich.; Eric Nystrom of Syosset, N.Y.; Patrick Eaves of Fairbault, Minn.; Ryan Kesler of Livonia, Mich.; Greg Moore of Lisbon, Maine; Patrick O'Sullivan of Sterling Heights, Mich.; Zach Parise of Fairbault, Minn.; Brett Sterling of Pasadena, Calif.; Gino Guyer of Coleraine, Minn.; Ryan Shannon of Darien, Conn.; Barry Tallackson of St. Paul., Minn.; Ryan Whitney of Scituate, Mass.; Tim Gleason of Clawson, Mich.; Mark Stuart of Rochester, Minn.; Ryan Suter of Madison, Wis.; James Wisniewski of Canton, Mich.; Matt Greene of Grand Ledge, Mich.; Matt Jones of Naperville, Ill.; Jim Howard of Ogdensburg, N.Y., and Bob Goepfert of Kings Park, N.Y.
