TRANSFER Disappearance to be marked by service
Friends of the missing woman will gather at Kidds Mill Covered Bridge at 6 p.m. Friday.
TRANSFER, Pa. -- It will be one year ago Friday that Sandra K. Baker disappeared, but her longtime friend Linda Henry hasn't given up trying to find her.
Nor does Henry want the public to forget that Baker is missing.
She plans a public prayer service and a butterfly release at the Kidds Mill Covered Bridge in Pymatuning Township at 6 p.m. that day as a tribute to her friend.
The bridge was one of Baker's favorite spots, Henry said.
Authorities believe Baker, 47, of Delaware Township, met with foul play, but they have been unable to find her body or the car she was driving the day she disappeared.
Last seen at store: Baker was last seen at the Sheetz convenience store on Pa. Route 18 the morning of May 25.
Police said her fianc & eacute;, William T. Crea Jr., was the last person to speak with her. He reported her missing and told authorities that she had called him that day to say she was in danger and would be out of touch for a few days.
No one ever heard from her again.
Henry said police have told her they have a suspect in the case but not enough evidence to file any charges.
The reward for information about Baker's whereabouts now stands at $7,000, with the bulk of that coming from her family and friends, Henry said.
Friend's efforts: Henry has had Baker's picture put on Dean Dairy milk cartons and got her listed in The Nation's Missing Children Organization and Center for Missing Adults.
One of Baker's adult children is also supposed to tape a segment on missing persons on the Montel Williams television show, she said.
