AUSTINTOWN POLICE Report of overdose is among drug calls



AUSTINTOWN -- Police received several reports involving drugs Wednesday, including a report that a man overdosed on cocaine in his Westchester Drive apartment.
Robert Rudd, 39, was in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center this morning. One of Rudd's neighbors told police she found Rudd on his knees moaning at about 10:10 p.m. Rudd told her he had purchased cocaine then went into convulsions, the neighbor told police.
Police found in Rudd's apartment a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine, several syringes and a burned spoon.
Another search
At about 12:30 a.m. today, police investigating the overdose searched the Westchester Drive apartment of a 21-year-old woman and found suspected marijuana and two marijuana pipes. Police said they plan to charge the woman with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Wednesday, police also received a report that a 14-year-old Austintown Middle School pupil who had been expelled for dealing drugs threatened his mother.
The mother told police that she got into an argument with the boy about the expulsion when he came to their South Beverly Avenue home from school at about 11 a.m. The boy then punched two holes in a wall and chased his mother out of a room. Police charged him with domestic violence.
Police also received a report Wednesday that a 14-year-old Fitch High School student had marijuana at school. An assistant principal told police that the student had suspected marijuana, a pack of rolling papers and a pack of cigarettes in his pockets.
