CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Erin Thorn scored 24 points on eight 3-pointers to lead Brigham Young. Thorn shot 7-for-8 from 3-point range to account for 21 of BYU's 41 first-half points. She finished 8-for-11 from beyond the arc. The Cougars (4-0) made nine of their 13 3-point attempts in the first half and led by as many as 31 points in the second. Casey Cooke and Lacey Yates each scored 10 points for Southern Utah (2-1).
No. 23 South Carolina 75, Georgia Southern 54
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Jocelyn Penn had 26 points and 11 rebounds ass South Carolina overcame 30 turnovers to win its fifth straight game. Kelly Morrone had 17 points, and Petra Ujhelyi added 13 points and 12 rebounds for South Carolina (5-0). Mimi Lindsey led Georgia Southern (3-2) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Shawnica Hill added 12 points and six rebounds, and Tiffany Lanier registered 10 of the Eagles' 19 steals.
Bethany 80, Point Park 47
BETHANY, W. Va. -- Cardinal Mooney graduate Katie Hardie scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help the Bethany College women's basketball team defeat Point Park (1-4). Hardie shot 8-for-9 from the foul line for Bethany (4-1), which has won four straight. Kelley Richardson and Nikki Babik also scored 15 points apiece for Bethany.
Otterbein 59, Westminster 48
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Katy Witt was the only player in double figures for Otterbein (4-0), which jumped ahead 34-16 by the half. Erica Tallo scored 18 points for the Titans (2-2).
