KENT STATE UNIVERSITY Police, coroner probe death of Struthers man in dorm room

KENT -- Kent State University police and the Portage County coroner are investigating the death of a 24-year-old Struthers man found in a dorm room Monday morning.
Joshua Burkholder of State Street, Struthers, was discovered in a room in Metcalf Hall by two friends he was visiting after they returned from morning classes. Burkholder was not a student at the university.
According to Scott Rainone, a university spokesman, Burkholder's friends notified KSU police and paramedics after they found him lifeless and unresponsive. He was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later in the day.
The Portage County coroner is expected to complete an autopsy and toxicology tests within the next few days, Rainone said.
Metcalf Hall houses about 120 students, mostly freshmen.
