KENT STATE UNIVERSITY Police, coroner investigate death of Struthers man found in dorm

KENT -- Kent State University police and the Portage County coroner are investigating the death of a 24-year-old Struthers man found in a community restroom in a dormitory Monday morning.
Joshua Burkholder of State Street, Struthers, was discovered in Metcalf Hall by two friends he was visiting after they returned from morning classes. Burkholder was not a student at the university.
According to Scott Rainone, a university spokesman, Burkholder's friends notified KSU police and paramedics after they found him unresponsive at 11:50 a.m. He was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
The Portage County coroner said autopsy results were inconclusive, and a toxicology report would be released in four to six weeks.
Metcalf Hall houses about 120 students, mostly freshmen.
