JAMI DUVALL

Statistics/accomplishments: District player of the year, first team all-Ohio and all-Trumbull County; earned Riodians Award and Gatorade player of the year; scored 36 goals this season -- 74 career goals -- and had 13 assists.
Positive influence in athletic career: My dad. He has taught me everything I know. He has always been there to correct my mistakes and make me a better player. Without him, I wouldn't have been able to succeed the way I have.
Best memory from this season: The district championship game when we were getting beat 2-1 by Champion with nine minutes left and tied the game. We went into overtime, then into a shootout and our keeper, Lynle Cornell, stopped the first three shots but Sarah Crafton, Christina Adams and I put all three shots into the net to win the title.
Something people don't know about you or would be surprised to learn: I plan to major in education at college.
CHRISTA ANDAMASARIS
School: ChampionGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district, all-TAC-8, all-county and second team all-Ohio; team's offensive player of the year for the fourth straight time; named to senior all-star team; holds school career records for goals (61) and points (142), and season records for goals (20) and points (45).
Positive influence: Bill Roberts. He has coached my travel team, the WTC Rockers, for seven years. His passion and enthusiasm for the game is contagious. He encourages you by not only telling you how to improve, but by finding something positive in what you've done to build on and commend you for. He encourages players to problem-solve and think on their feet, which will help in life both on and off the field.
Best memory: Helping coach [Dan] Houle attain his 100th victory, being district runners-up and being selected all-Ohio.
Surprised to learn: Besides my athletic and academic achievements, I am also a junior volunteer for Trumbull Memorial Hospital and a waitress for Champion Chicken and Pizza. I plan to major in dentistry in college.
TARYN CARLSON
School: PolandGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Division I district player of the year; first team all-Ohio, all-district, all-county and all-MAC.
Positive influence: My father. He was my first coach and he taught me everything I know about the game. He greatly influenced my love for the sport throughout my athletic career.
Best memory: Beating Canfield to advance to the district final and then beating Howland to win the district championship.
Surprised to learn: I'm a very shy and laid-back person.
KELLY CROYSDALE
School: FitchGrade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: First-team all-district, all-county and all-Steel Valley Conference; named Fitch's best midfielder and most valuable player for second straight year; scored 12 goals, eight assists and had 70 percent pass completion rate.
Positive influences: My sister Kristy. She has motivated me to be in peak physical and mental condition and I can always count on her to be there when I need her most. My dad has been my No. 1 fan. He is there at every game cheering me on and is the first to say how proud he is of me. Words cannot describe how special they are to me.
Best memory: Finishing with a school-best 13-2-3 record, along with being ranked 11th in the state. Also, beating Poland 4-0.
Surprised to learn: I finished first in my age bracket in the 2002 Peace Race. I also have a 4.0 grade point average.
BRITTAN LEE DAVIS
School: PolandGrade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Metro Athletic Conference, all-district and all-county; scored 23 goals and had eight assists.
Positive influence: Frank Ginetti. He has coached me since I was 6. And my coach, Jim Sutman. They both encourage me and believe in me.
Best memory: Scoring the game-winning goal in the district semifinals to beat Canfield. And beating Howland for the district championship.
Surprised to learn: I am a member of the school science club and competed in the 2002 "Envirothon."
ANNA DEJULIO
School: HubbardGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Trumbull County and all-district; scored 10 goals and had three assists.
Positive influence: My family, because they have taught me to never give up and to work my hardest to achieve my goals on and off the field. And my teammates, for always being there and pushing me to get better.
Best memory: Winning the Trumbull Athletic Conference and district titles and having the chance to play in the senior all-star game because I got the chance to play with girls I've always had to play against.
Surprised to learn: I didn't plan on playing soccer my freshman year, but my family and friends convinced me to try out for a year.
ADRIANNE DETESCO
School: MooneyGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Steel Valley Conference and all-district; recorded school-record 11 shutouts.
Positive influences: My mom and dad for always being my support and motivation since I was 5. My No. 1 fan, my sister Audrey, who has always been there for me. And my coach, Alex Simon, who made my senior year very special. He was always very positive and made playing soccer fun. He was demanding, but always fair and pushed to get the very best out of me and my teammates.
Best memory: Since I played keeper all four years, my time in the field was very limited. So I'll never forget scoring my first goal this season. I'm sure my teammates and fans will never forget my celebration dance.
Surprised to learn: I dedicated this past season to my Grandma and Grandpa Detesco, who both passed away this year. Their love and support of my soccer career will never be forgotten.
BRITTNY HUMPHREY
School: LibertyGrade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district and all-TAC-8; scored 19 goals; earned scholar athlete award.
Positive influence: My parents, for always being there for me, never giving up on me and for loving me no matter what I do.
Best memory: Avenging a loss at our home field with a convincing win at Maplewood. But the most important thing was watching my team continue to improve after every game and being proud of their never-say-die attitude, even when we were thoroughly outplayed at times.
Surprised to learn: I would have loved kicking extra points, punts and field goals for our football team my sophomore year.
JANEEN MASTERNICK
School: BoardmanGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Scored 100th goal, breaking school record of 51. First team all-SVC, all-district, all-Mahoning County and all-Ohio academic team. School's offensive player of the year.
Positive influence: My parents. They have always supported me with my decisions and told me to just do my best. They are there for me no matter what the circumstances.
Best memory: Beating Fitch on our home field to win the SVC for the second straight year (it was our last SVC game ever).
Surprised to learn: As one of eight kids, what really motivates me to play hard is when my family comes to watch me.
BRITTANY MCKEE
School: HubbardGrade: Junior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-county, all-district, all-TAC-8, team MVP, Gatorade "Will to Win" athlete of the year, 2001 Vindicator player of the year.
Positive influences: My co-captain for next year, Adrienne Wolf. We've been best friends since we were 4. She has always supported what I do and all of my decisions and she is endlessly helping me to better myself. And my brother, Gabe. He's given me all the support and optimism I've ever needed and he's always finding new ways to keep me on my toes.
Best memory: Coming back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Champion in the last two minutes of the game.
Surprised to learn: I've always wanted to play football.
MAGGIE MILLS
School: BoardmanGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-SVC, all-district and all-county; team captain; scored 11 goals and had 11 assists.
Positive influence: My coaches, Fawzi Mujahed and Mrs. Grabert. They always had faith in me and gave me confidence to accomplish my goals.
Best memory: Winning the SVC title against Fitch.
Surprised to learn: I plan to go into a career in nursing after high school.
DARCY QUINLAN
School: HowlandGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district, all-county, all-MAC; third-team all-state.
Positive influence: Billy Roberts. He coached me from age 6 to 14. He is an amazing coach and an even better person.
Best memory: Beating North Canton Hoover in a shootout. Our goalie played awesome and we advanced to the district final.
Surprised to learn: I was this year's Homecoming queen.
JENNY SOPKOVICH
School: GirardGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-TAC-8, all-county, all-district and third-team all-state; scored 80 career goals; team's offensive player of the year; academic all-Ohio; team captain; scored 23 goals and had 11 assists this season.
Positive influence: My first soccer coach, Billy Roberts. He taught me to love the game and to always give 100 percent whenever I play. And Augie Ragozzino, because he helped me perfect my skills and reach my goals throughout high school.
Best memory: Scoring my 80th career goal against Liberty.
Surprised to learn: I'm valedictorian of my class and went to the state track meet for the 4x100 relay.
GRAZIA SORICE
School: CanfieldGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Earned all-district, all-county and all-MAC honors; academic all-Ohio; team captain and team MVP; YDSSCA senior all-star.
Positive influence: My parents. They were the ones who started me playing and have encouraged me the entire way. They allowed me to expand my game to the best of my abilities through my training and against my competition.
Best memory: Winning the MAC over Poland and beating them at their place and ours.
KELLY WILLIAMS
School: CanfieldGrade: Senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-MAC and all-district; second-team all-Mahoning Valley; earned OSSCA academic excellence honors.
Positive influence: My dad has always been encouraging and supportive. He continues to push me to be better and has made me realize nothing is out of reach.
Best memory: Beating Poland at home on Senior Night.
Surprised to learn: I want to be a physical therapist and someday live in North or South Carolina.
COACH OF THE YEAR
JIM SUTMAN
School: Poland
Statistics/accomplishments: Led Poland to Division I district title -- its fourth in eight years; holds 92-23-11 record in eight years at Poland.
Positive influence: Gene Ameduri, the girls varsity coach before me. He was one of my high school coaches at Poland and taught me that a coach could successfully be a friend and a teacher. He also taught me that age really has no bearing on friendship.
Best memory: Laura Mauer's second goal against Howland in the district championship match. She scored from defense and it was an absolute bullet. We work a lot on strength and speed of shooting. She nailed it and I was proud of her.
Surprised to learn: I am the junior varsity scorekeeper. This way, I can interact with the younger players and watch their play closely.
