GIRLS BASKETBALL Lordstown subdues Jackson-Milton
United lost to East Canton while Hickory won.
LORDSTOWN -- Jennifer Bennett and Amanda Kistler combined for 27 points Tuesday as the Lordstown High girls basketball team edged visiting Jackson-Milton, 41-39.
Liz Allison made two free throws with two minutes remaining that gave Lordstown (1-4) the lead for keeps.
Bennett and Kistler each grabbed five rebounds while Allison had three steals.
Sarah Johnson paced the Bluejays (0-2) with 14 points.
E. Canton 56, United 36
HANOVERTON -- Ashley Currence scored 23 points and Amanda Arick scored 22 points for East Canton to pace the visiting Wizards (1-2).
Sara Hotchkiss scored 12 points while Ashley Bergman added 10 for United (1-1), which led 25-21 at the break.
Hickory 52, Neshannock 28
HERMITAGE -- Erica Viselli had 12 points on four 3-point goals and five assists, to lead Hickory (2-1).
Deandra Evans added 11 points, 13 rebounds and four steals, Laura Herman had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Cathy Powell had 10 points and four steals.
Shere' Marshall contributed eight steals.
Nicole Fee had nine and six rebounds for Neshannock (1-1), while Andrea Figuly had nine rebounds, three points and three steals.
