NEW YORK -- The Rangers' Ronald Petrovicky and Pavel Bure scored in an 18-second span in the final three minutes to answer a Tampa Bay flurry. Andre Roy and Martin St. Louis scored 1:26 apart just moments earlier. But Bure scored his second of the game at 17:22, and while that goal was being announced, Petrovicky lifted a shot over Nikolai Khabibulin to put the Rangers in front. The Rangers also got a goal and two assists from Petr Nedved. Ruslan Fedotenko scored a power-play goal for Tampa Bay.
Thrashers 5, Capitals 4
ATLANTA -- Tony Hrkac scored the tie-breaking goal with 1:04 remaining. Andy Sutton, Pascal Rheaume, and Chris Herperger had Atlanta goals. Thrashers rookie Mark Hartigan added the first of his first career. Sergei Gonchar, Jaromir Jagr, Dainius Zubrus and Mike Grier scored for Washington.
Mighty Ducks 3, Blackhawks 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Paul Kariya and Marc Chouinard scored 23 seconds apart early in the first period and Patric Kjellberg also scored as Anaheim snapped a five-game winless streak. Alex Zhamnov and rookie Tyler Arnason scored for the Blackhawks.
Red Wings 4, Flames 2
DETROIT -- Curtis Joseph stopped 31 shots, and four Detroit players scored on just 18 shots. Brendan Shanahan, Henrik Zetterberg, Sean Avery and Sergei Fedorov scored for the Red Wings. Craig Conroy and Jarome Iginla scored for the Flames.
