House break-in reported in Salem

SALEM -- Occupants of a home on the 1300 block of East Pershing Avenue said a man entered their house, police said. The residents said they were in the living room when a man in his late 20s or early 30s came in and grabbed a purse that was in the kitchen and then fled.
The purse contained cash and credit cards. The crime was reported at 11:38 p.m. Sunday.
The intruder was described as white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and he had a dark mustache. He was wearing a tan work coat and a dark stocking cap.
