A Christmas Jamboree
GIRARD -- The public library and the chamber of commerce are sponsoring Jolly Holly Jamboree Christmas Arrival at the library, 105 E. Prospect St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Santa Claus will arrive on a firetruck with the high school band at 11 a.m.
The Girard Schools Honor Choir will perform Christmas carols, and at 11:30, the Puppet Players from Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church will put on a puppet play.
Earth Day event
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Make environmentally friendly gifts for the holidays such as bird feeders, candles or wrapping paper at Slippery Rock University's Earth Day event at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the SRU union. All activities are open to the public. There will be a booklet on promoting a "green" holiday in and outside your house and samples of homemade baked goods. Other items will be for sale.
