Tuba tunes put oompah in holiday

Bob Paxton of McDonald, above, and Maureen Narry of Ohioville, Pa., at left, were among some 90 tuba players at Eastwood Mall in Niles for the annual TubaChristmas show. The international event, held Saturday, began in 1974 in New York City. Every Christmas season, tuba and euphonium players gather in more than 180 cities to put on a show of traditional holiday music specially arranged for the tuba.
