Reception honors the Burkeys' golden jubilee



XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Raymond O. Burkey, 60 Phil-Rose Lane, were honored Nov. 24 on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary during a surprise dinner reception at The Georgetown in Boardman.
Hosts of the event for family and friends were the honorees' son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Betty Burkey of East Palestine.
The former Angeline Mary Aulisio and Mr. Burkey exchanged marriage vows Nov. 27, 1952, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown.
Mrs. Burkey was employed at Thornton Laundry, North Side Laundry, St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Cafaro Osteopathic Hospital, all in Youngstown, and Girard Laundry. She worked for some 60 years and retired in 2000.
Mr. Burkey was self-employed in construction and retired in 1982.
The family circle includes two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
