RAY SWANSON | Keystoner Titans' fall athletes reap honors
It's a night that Westminster College athletes look forward to each year -- the annual Fall Sports Banquet, an affair at which Most Valuable Player honors are bestowed on seven athletes who have attained those laurels during the fall sports seasons.
More than 200 attended the banquet, staged recently at Russell Hall on campus.
Westminster athletes enjoy seven fall varsity sports programs: men's cross country, women's cross country, football, men's soccer, women's soccer, women's tennis and volleyball.
Following are this year's winners and the high school from which they graduated:

He also caught 19 passes for 244 yards and three TDs. Westminster posted a 6-4 record, going 4-1 in the PAC while garnering a second place finish in the final standings.
Humberston posted an 0.90 goals-against average for the PAC champion Titans (16-4-2) while going 10-0 in the PAC while adding 110 saves and nine shutouts on the season.
Edmonds was a defensive anchor at the sweeper position for the PAC champion Titans, leading a unit that allowed just 24 goals in 24 games. She also recorded a pair of goals while leading the Titans to their first NCAA Division III playoff berth and playoff win.
Leyden earned All-PAC Second Team honors at #1 doubles, while also competing at #2 singles and leading Westminster (10-5, 4-1) to a new program record for wins in a season.
Spehar led Westminster and the PAC in hitting percentage (.375), posting 379 kills and a team-best 204 total blocks for the PAC champion and ECAC playoff participant Lady Titans (26-10, 10-0). For her efforts she was a First Team All-PAC selection and was named PAC Player of the Year.
Morocco honored by Georgia
Zippy Morocco, one-time football and basketball great at Ursuline High School and the University of Georgia, was recently inducted into the University of Georgia's "Circle of Honor."
That is the highest distinction a former Dawg athlete can attain.
He is one of a select few to have received the honor.
At Georgia, he participated in football and basketball.
Zippy was an Al-SEC basketball player at Georgia from 1949-1952 when he was one of the team's top scorers. He held the Ga. scoring record into the modern age, the record lasting for many years.
Morocco had a long and illustrious career in real estate since his graduation and stint in the service. He definitely was one of the finest athletes in the history of Georgia.
