XNILES -- The Rev. Barry French presided at the 3 p.m. ceremony Nov. 9 as Patricia Phillipson and Douglas Christy were united in marriage at First United Methodist Church.
The bride is a daughter of Charles and Nancy Phillipson, 870 Frederick St., and parents of the groom are David Christy of Warren and Cara Smeltzer of Niles.
After a reception held in their honor at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre in Liberty, the newlyweds left on a wedding trip to Mayan Riviera in Mexico.
The bride wore a gold and ivory satin gown fashioned with a basque waist, square neckline and spaghetti straps. It was embellished with rhinestones and pearls.
Cranberry-colored gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Carrie Phillipson, the bride's sister, and Stacie Lehman, and the bridesmaids, Kristin Andrews, Leslie Bellus, Hope Lucy and Lindsey Vasbinder. Flower girl was Alexis Smycheck, the bride's cousin.
Jake Neuman served as best man, and groomsmen were Chad Christy, the groom's brother; Jonathan Smeltzer, his stepbrother; Rob Lyons; Tom Barringer; Ian Bowden; Carl Holtman; and Archie Jackson.
The bride, an assistant manager at National City Bank, Warren, graduated from Ohio State University in Columbus with a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from OSU and is a pharmacist at Target in Niles.
The couple live at 8521 Black Oak Drive N.E. Warren.
