WARREN -- The National Packard Museum board of directors will open the museum's doors free to area residents from 1 to 5 p.m. next Sunday, community appreciation day, to thank local residents for supporting the activities, events and operations of the museum.
The museum opened at 1899 Mahoning Ave. in July 1999.
Breakfast with Santa
BOARDMAN -- The staff and residents of Shepherd of the Valley-Boardman, 7148 West Blvd., will sponsor their annual Breakfast With Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the facility.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature a breakfast buffet for children and their parents, free photos of each child with Santa, face painting and music.

Grant-seeking basics
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Public Library of Youngstown & amp; Mahoning County is accepting reservations for two grant center programs slated for Dec. 9 in the meeting room at the Main Library, 305 Wick Avenue.
"Grantseeking Basics: An Orientation to the Funding Research Process," a basic orientation to the grant center collection, will be at 9:30 a.m. It is intended for representatives of nonprofit organizations new to the grant-seeking process who want to know more about the library's resources, or for previous participants who would like to refresh their knowledge.
"Getting Started with FC Search," an introduction to the foundation center's database on CD-ROM, will be at 11 a.m. FC Search helps users find sources of funding.
Both programs are free and open to representatives from nonprofit organizations.
