METRO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE Hulea wins 100th as Poland routs Jefferson



Beaver Local quarterback Jake Robinson scored a late touchdown to beat Salem.
POLAND -- Sean Clayton threw four touchdown passes and Poland High football coach Paul Hulea got his 100th career victory as the Bulldogs defeated Jefferson 35-6 Friday.
Clayton tossed three of his scoring strikes to Dave Koval, covering 17, 29 and 14 yards, respectively, and another, a 22-yarder, to Dan McGarry.
Clayton completed 17-of-21 passes for 194 yards.
Brandon Hardin carried 17 times for 108 yards and a touchdown for Poland (2-0), which limited Jefferson to 35 rushing yards.
Beaver Local 19, Salem 16: SALEM -- Quarterback Jake Robinson scored the winning touchdown with 1:51 remaining in the game. Robinson also threw a 7-yard TD pass to Matt Vujaklya in the fourth quarter to help Beaver Local (2-0), which overcame a 16-0 Salem halftime lead.
Beaver Local had 263 yards rushing and 31 passing for 294 total.
Salem (1-1) had 107 rushing and 207 passing for 314 total yards.
Junior quarterback Landon Heath passed for 207 yards on 16 of 27, with Zac Grey making eight catches for 90 yards. Sophomore Grant Sevek had 65 yards in receptions for the Quakers.
Lance Buckley caught a TD pass from Heath, and Sevek snared a 28-yarder for a tally.
