Summary of police activity:
GIRARD
Aug. 25
Assault: Two men reported another man struck them with a handgun during an argument at a residence in the 200 block of East Kline Street. One man had various cuts, as well as swelling on his face and the other suffered a broken nose.
Criminal damaging/theft: A vehicle's driver's-side rear window was shattered in the 600 block of Forsythe Avenue and an AM/FM CD player, two speakers, at least 24 CDs and an alarm box were removed.
Vandalism: Someone emptied five trash cans and their contents on the football field at Arrowhead Stadium on Highland Avenue. Also, flour was spread in the sidewalk and bleacher areas.
Criminal damaging: Someone used a rock to break a car's back windshield and a passenger-side window in the 200 block of East Kline Street.
Aug. 26
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Girard man on a domestic violence charge after his wife said he punched her, pulled her hair and broke a window on her vehicle after the two argued.
Criminal damaging: Someone flattened all four of a vehicle's tires and used a key to damage its paint in the 90 block of Crumlin Avenue.
Aug. 27
Theft: An employee at Shell True North, 307 S. State St., reported a man and a woman stole two cases of beer.

Aug. 17
Theft: A bicycle was stolen from an apartment building in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Aug. 20
Theft: Police arrested a 31-year-old Youngstown woman after three bags of women's clothing were taken from Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave.
Warrants: While investigating a domestic violence complaint, police arrested a 19-year-old Girard man on charges of possession of criminal tools, trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs.

Auto theft: A 1998 Oldsmobile was stolen from a residence in the 800 block of Mansell Drive.
Criminal damaging: A pickup truck's passenger-side window was smashed in the 2700 block of Merrell Street.
Warrants: Police arrested a 46-year-old Youngstown man and charged him with failure to appear in court.
Theft/warrants: Police arrested a Youngstown woman after various pieces of furniture were removed from an apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive. She was also held on charges of larceny and failure to appear in court.

Deception: Police arrested a 38-year-old Warren man after a pharmacist at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., said he tried to obtain a narcotic using an altered prescription.
Aug. 23
Theft: A woman in the 100 block of Mansell Drive reported a female attempted to cash a check the victim said was stolen.
Auto theft: A 1989 Cadillac Sedan Deville was stolen from a carport in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Aug. 24
Theft: A cellular phone was taken from a server's station at the Fortune Garden restaurant, 4245 Belmont Ave.
Theft: Two cartons of cigarettes were stolen from Smoker Friendly, 3814 Belmont Ave.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 45-year-old Girard man and charged him with domestic violence after his wife said he threw her through a screen door and tried to throw her off the back deck at their residence in the 5700 block of Sampson Drive.
Theft: Two containers of beer were taken from Shell True North, 3990 Belmont Ave.
Theft/assault: An employee at Youngstown Crab Co., 3917 Belmont Ave., reported a man shoved him before leaving without paying his dinner check.
Aug. 25
Warrant: Police arrested a 31-year-old Liberty Township man on Interstate 76 and charged him with forgery.
Theft: A Youngstown man reported someone entered his room at the Tallyho-tel, 4229 Belmont Ave., and stole an envelope containing $357.
Aug. 26
Warrant: Police arrested a 52-year-old Youngstown man at the Mahoning County Jail on a theft charge.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 5200 block of Belmont Avenue reported three juveniles used dirt bikes to knock over a fence and gate that divide her property line.
Theft: A car stereo was removed from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Naylor-Lloyd Road.
Warrant: Police arrested a 37-year-old Girard man on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Counterfeit: A man paid for a hot dog at Punky's Pit Stop, 6670 Belmont Ave., with a counterfeit $20 bill.
Theft: A diamond ring was missing from a residence in the 500 block of Northlawn Drive.

Theft: An undetermined amount of money was taken from a vending machine at Ed's Greenhouse, 560 S. Main St.
Aug. 22
Theft: An American flag was removed from the front yard of a residence in the 300 block of Jacobs Road.
Theft: A purse was stolen from a car in the 500 block of West Liberty Street.
Aug. 24
Theft by deception: A woman in the 500 block of West Liberty Street reported she paid for several knives and that the solicitors failed to give her the merchandise or return her money.
Aug. 25
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a vehicle in the 100 block of Hillview Drive.
Assault: A man reported a 17-year-old male juvenile assaulted his 11-year-old son.
Theft: A woman reported two kittens stolen from her residence in the 100 block of West Park Avenue.
