YOUNGSTOWN -- A free first-time home buyer workshop will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Service Agency, 535 Marmion Ave. The workshop, which satisfies education requirements for some mortgage programs, will cover issues of affordability, budgeting, credit and the loan application process. Salem bridge work
SALEM -- Traffic on the Dean B. Cranmer Memorial Bridge on West State Street here will be reduced to one lane beginning Tuesday.
United Road and Bridge Inc. of Canfield has the $130,636 contract to repair the bridge deck and six catch basins and replace sidewalk and curbs. The work will take about 60 days.
Joe Julian, city service director, said that though the bridge will remain open primarily for truck traffic, city officials hope most motorists will use West Pershing Street instead.
He said reducing traffic to one lane on the heavily traveled bridge over railroad tracks will cause delays.
