Traffic, parking concern
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are warning downtown workers that traffic and parking could be a big problem Friday morning.
An additional 1,000 cars may be parked downtown when workers arrive Friday morning. The Tom Joyner Sky Show, a national radio show with eight million listeners, will broadcast live between 6 and 10 a.m. from Powers Auditorium. A crowd exceeding 2,300 people is expected. Those attending are expected to start lining up Thursday night at Powers.
Downtown workers should expect delays and to find street and other public parking being used by those attending the event. Parking lot operators will have attendants to reserve spaces for regular customers, police said. Additional police will be deployed to ease traffic problems.
