Howland man sues kennel to get his dog

A man wants a judge to make the kennel give his dog back.
WARREN -- GiGi come home.
A Howland Township man has filed a lawsuit in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court saying a kennel has "unlawfully taken and detained" his female German shepherd.
He wants a judge to order the kennel to return GiGi.
Raymond R. Dolney of Bayhill Drive N.E. filed the lawsuit Wednesday. No hearing date has been set.
Marvin, Dolores and Pamela Oney, doing business as Classic Kennels on Bushnell-Campbell Road N.E., Hartford, are named as the defendants.
A woman answering the phone at Classic Kennels declined to comment. None of the Oneys returned telephone calls.
What's alleged
Atty. Robert York of Warren, who filed the lawsuit on Dolney's behalf, said his client travels for work frequently and would often leave the dog at the kennel.
According to the lawsuit, Dolney took his 3-year-old dog to Classic Kennels in March 2002, but the kennel has "refused, and continues to refuse" since then to return the dog.
Dolney is asking for $222,000 in damages, contending he has lost the "use and enjoyment of GiGi as a result of the wrongful taking, detention of possession and conversion of GiGi by the Oneys."
