CAR SHOWS
XGlenn Christian Church, 5540 Parkman Road N.W., Warren, will hold an ox roast and car show from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Free registration will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 243 trophies will be awarded. A "Nite Before" cruise is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will include a bonfire, hayride, hot dogs and beverages.
FLOWER SHOWSXThe 42nd annual Columbiana Rose Show is planned Sept. 7 at Sky Bank in Columbiana. Entries must be submitted at 12:30 p.m., and judging will take place at 2. Roses will be displayed from 4 to 9 and then go on sale. The show is open to all rose growers in the Youngstown, Warren and Columbiana areas and Pennsylvania. Roses must be labeled with proper names. FUND-RAISERS
XBoardman Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, will hold a "Help Lori Breathe" fund-raising car wash and thrift sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to benefit Lori Schilling, who needs a double lung transplant due to a rare disease called ideopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
XA motorcycle run will be held Sept. 8 from Harley Davidson of Youngstown, one-half mile east of Route 11, Canfield, as a benefit for Angels for Animals. Sign-up will start at 10:30 a.m., and the last bike out will be at noon. The fee of $25 for each bike includes a pin, three tickets for door prizes, food and music at the final stop, and a 50-50 drawing. Rain date is Sept. 15. For more information call (330) 692-0326.
XWarren Harley Owner's Group and Warren Harley Davidson will sponsor a Harley Night from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 in Courthouse Square Park, Warren. A bike show, rodeo games, contests, awards, food and music will be featured. The bike show entry fee is $5, and proceeds will benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency.
