2 suspected in Campbell home robbery
CAMPBELL -- Two Youngstown men scheduled to be arraigned today in Girard Municipal Court on charges involving a Hubbard Township robbery also are suspects in a Campbell robbery, police said.
Christopher McBride, 20, of Bennington Avenue and Jamal Bullock, 30, of Liberty Road are charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in the Hubbard crime.
Police say the men forced their way into a Shadyside Drive home shortly before noon Saturday and forced a woman in her 70s to give them several items, including jewelry and cash, before fleeing in her vehicle.
Campbell police say the men are suspects in the Friday robbery of $1,200 from an 83-year-old Pin Oaks Place woman. She told police the men came into her home at about 7:15 a.m. asking for "Gregory." When she said they had the wrong house, they asked if she was alone and she told them she was a widow. They pushed her to the floor and one watched over her as the other stole money from a purse and bedroom and ransacked the bedroom.
Campbell Officer Ed Sharshan, administrative assistant to the chief, said the men arrested in Hubbard match the description of the Campbell robbers. He said the description of a car they drove is also the same.
The suspects were arrested after police spotted them at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday about a block away from the Hubbard home. They were captured on foot.
Officers from Hubbard city and township, Liberty, Youngstown and the Mahoning and Trumbull county sheriff's departments assisted.
